Serving Locally
Soup To Go
Soup To Go is a longtime UCC Medfield ministry to the homeless and it provides several different ways to be involved. The Woods Mullen shelter is part of Boston Public Health’s emergency shelter system housing 200+ women every night. We will be preparing a hearty lunch in our kitchen at UCC, bringing it to Boston and serving at the day center at the Woods Mullen shelter. Please join us to help cook a meal, serve at the shelter and join the guests in a game of bingo or other activity after. You can also help by making homemade cards and donating travel-size toiletries, magazines, books, new socks and underwear, and gently used clothes in the baskets located in the church lobby. New signups are available!!!! Find out more about Soup to Go.

Cradles to Crayons (C2C)
The mission of C2C in Brighton is to provide low-income and homeless children the basic essentials they need to be safe, warm, ready to learn, and valued. They also offer meaningful, tangible volunteer opportunities to thousands of children, youth, and adults each year. Many UCC Medfield members of all ages participate in this effort as "packagers" of new socks and underwear, donors of new and gently used children’s clothing, and as on-site volunteers in the warehouse. You are welcome to take-home a packaging bag of new socks or underwear that is found in the lobby stairwell. Detailed instructions including a suggested prayer before you start are included in each bag. From January through June 2017, UCC Medfield packaged over 489 bags of socks, underwear and newborn caps!

Knitting for Others Ministry
We are excited to relaunch the UCC Medfield Prayer Shawl Ministry that began in 2004 and expand its' focus to include knitting for homeless guests at Boston area shelters. The goals of our Knitting for Others Ministry are: to create something beautiful for others, to enjoy the fellowship of others who are on this same journey of serving others through knitting, and to use the physical act of knitting as a tool to prepare us to hear God's voice in the silence. We will meet twice a month, once during the day and once at night.

Find out when they are going by checking the UCC Medfield website calendar. The group meets in the lobby after the 10 am worship service to head over together.
