Youth Mission
We believe that loving God and loving others results in all kinds of opportunities to serve others in Christ's name! Serving out of that love allows us to develop and grow our hearts, minds and lives for Christ.
These are a few of the regularly scheduled mission opportunities for youth:
Each year students in youth ministries are invited to assist with the City Mission Society's "Christmas Shop" and working at the Boston Food Bank warehouse.
Each spring for many years our Senior High Fellowship group has participated in World Vision's 30 Hour Famine, learning about poverty and hunger and raising money for hungry children and families around the world.
Each summer a group of senior high students and leaders partner with an organization (YouthWorks!, LEAD222) to serve away from home. Last year we traveled to Washington D.C. to tutor inner city children and to paint and prepare an elementary school for the start of the new school year. The summer of 2010, 29 youth and 4 adult leaders participated in similar activities to serve the needs of the people of Mingo County, Appalachia.
