Children’s Ministry
Welcome to our Children's Ministry program at UCC Medfield. Our ministry program involves children in the nursery through fifth grade who have Christian education during the 9:30 Sunday morning worship or 11:00 praise worship service. The purpose of our children’s ministry program is to teach all our children about God’s great love for them. This great love is revealed over and over in the greatest book ever written…The Holy Bible.
SEPTEMBER 2010 CHILDREN'S MINISTRIES NEWS AND NOTES
1. JOIN US THIS SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 12TH FOR HOMECOMING SUNDAY WHEN WE RETURN TO OUR TWO WORSHIP SERVICES. AT OUR 9:30 TRADITIONAL SERVICE, WE OFFER GRADE LEVEL CLASSES FOR EACH AGE AND OUR 11:00 PRAISE SERVICE HAS A MULTI-AGE SUNDAY SCHOOL. WE ARE BLESSED TO HAVE 22 ADULTS ON THE CHILDREN'S MINISTRY TEAM WHO COMMIT THEMSELVES TO NURTURING THEIR STUDENTS ON THEIR FAITH JOURNEYS.
2. All Students will receive a CM (Children's Ministry) lunch bag this Sunday. Each bag will include a box of offering envelopes, a copy of the appropriate curriculum brochure for that student and the 2010-2011 Christian Ed handbook will be in the oldest CM child's lunch bag (one per family). Our theme this year for all Christian Ed program is "Growing in God's Love" and we pray that all our class offerings (children, youth, and adult) will nuture all your family members on their journey of faith.
3. NEW THIS FALL-in an effort to be green, we are launching on Homecoming Sunday a special weekly bulletin for children who attend the 9:30 service with their parents. We want children to get used to following along in the worship service but realized they don't need all the pages of our weekly bulletin.
4.On-line registration forms for the 2010-2011 Sunday School year are available on the Children's Ministry section of the website.
5. All Children's Ministry families receive a monthly newsletter called The Parent Link. The September newsletter was emailed on August 24th ---the focus is on children heading back to school and the excitement as well as anxieties they may face. Busy schedules, high expectations, and perfectionism can lead to weary, stressed-out kids. This month's newsletter is filled with insights about ways to keep your family as stress-free as possible during the new school year ahead. Hard copies of the newsletters are available in the literature racks in the narthex and outside Susan's office on the second floor.
6. Cradles to Crayons has some exciting news---they are moving their warehouse and distribution center to serve more kids! Their new Giving Factory will be at 155 North Beacon Street in Brighton and will allow C2C to more than double their impact by 2015. The move is scheduled for January 2011.
