Peeking Through the Sunday School Windows
If you would like a glimpse into what our students are exploring each month, check out our column, Peeking through the Sunday School Windows, which we update each month in the Beacon and is reprinted below.
Peeking through the Sunday School windows you would have seen:
The children in the pre-k 1 class learning they can worship God by singing, dancing and praying, and then making worship horns.
The kindergarten students jumping up and down to count how many times they can forgive a friend (and thankfully, they can jump a lot!!).
The first graders listening to the story of the parable of the Mustard Seed and then planting seeds (wheat, corn, beans) in pots that were labeled "Love Grows!!"
The second graders learning a song about the wise man who built his house upon the rock and the foolish man who built his house upon the sand.
The third graders reading the parable of the Unforgiving Servant and then adding a third storyboard about the parable to their Parable Tree booklets they will take home at the end of the month.
The fourth grade students discussing the baptism they witnessed in worship and their own baptisms as well!!!
Our fifth grade students reading some of Jesus' parables and discussing God's infinite forgiveness for us and then talking about how hard it is to forgive, especially those closest to us of whom we expect the most.
The multiage class continuing their month-long discussion on prayer and then making beaded key chains or necklaces to remind them they can pray anytime, anywhere and about anything!
