The ALPHA Course
An opportunity to explore the meaning of life What's the point of life? More than a million people all over the world have completed the Alpha course during the last six years in churches, homes, schools, universities and prisons. Alpha is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed, non-threatening setting over ten thought-provoking weekly sessions, with an optional day or weekend away. It is low-key, friendly and fun - and is supported by all the main Christian denominations. Anyone can come. Anyone interested in finding out more about the Christian faith can be invited on this eleven-week introduction designed for nonchurch-goers and new Christians. It can also be used as a refresher course for mature Christians. There is no pressure to join any church. Learning and laughter. The course is based on a series of fifteen talks, which tackle the key questions at the heart of the Christian faith. It is possible to learn about the Christian faith and to enjoy the experience! Laughter and fun are a key part of the course, breaking down barriers and enabling everyone to relax together. Pasta. An opportunity to eat together gives people the chance to get to know each other and to develop Christian friendships. It is important that the course is held in a welcoming environment. Ask anything. Alpha is a place where no question is regarded as too simple or too hostile. People are given a chance to raise their questions and discuss relevant topics in small groups after the talk.
