A Message from Pastor Karen - Why Name Tags?
You may have noticed that we've been wearing name tags in worship the last several weeks. As we journey towards becoming a warmer community, I think you can agree that learning names is one of the first steps in that direction. The church was always meant to be a community of people who are becoming known to each other, serving one another, and working together to share the love of God with the world. It's hard to do that when we don't know each other's names.
Your name tag is not for you.
Please consider wearing your name tag as an act of service.
This fall we are excited to announce a combined and revamped Greeter and Welcome Table Ministry. Our greeters/welcomers will greet you in the lobby each Sunday, help you find your name tag, help visitors navigate restrooms and children's classrooms, and answer other questions. We are excited about reinvigorating this ministry and excited to recruit some friendly people to use their gifts in this way. If you are interested, please contact Cindy Brennan or Gayle Edgar.
I know we aren't too interested in warmer weather right now, but it's always the right season to work on becoming a warmer community!
With love and friendship,
Registration for 2018-2019 Children, Youth, and Confirmation Programs is Now Open
We are now using Church Community Builder (CCB), our new contact management system, for the registration process this year. You will need to create an account to register if you have not used their system before. If you are currently in our old database, the system will auto-populate the registration form with your contact information and streamline the process. Please verify that all data is correct. CCB allows us to create attendance lists for teachers, track allergies, emergency contacts, etc., in one centralized location, which will automate the registration process for all events going forward.

Photos from Meet the Horses Event
We had a great turnout at Pastor Phil and Beth's house a few weeks ago. Folks of all ages enjoyed learning about the horses, petting, and feeding them and the kids had a blast riding. A special thanks to Lillian Lybrand for her help with the horses and her cantering demonstration on Brady. A fun time was definitely had by all! Check out the photos.

Another amazing Vacation Bible Adventure is behind us and what a wonderful week it was. We had 45 children, 25 volunteers of all ages, and 3 churches (UCC Medfield, The Church of the Advent, and The Baptist Church) come together to worship Jesus and rejoice in God's love. A very special thank you to Wendy Garland who is officially stepping down as co-director of VBA. Over the past 5 years, Wendy has been instrumental in bringing VBA back to our community and building it into the wonderful program that it is today. Thank you Wendy for all your hard work and dedication to the Vacation Bible Adventure program. We cannot wait to see how God will again use your gifts as you continue to serve at UCC Medfield. See the photos of all the fun and watch this year's video.

Collecting Rocks for The Kindness Rocks Project
They were such a hit last year, we will be making Kindness Rocks at the UCC Medfield booth at Medfield Day again! Kindness Rocks are decorated with hand-written encouraging messages that people leave around the community to spread kindness. While you are out exploring over the summer, please consider picking up a few palm-size, smooth rocks for us to use to spread kindness. There is a bucket in the lobby for any rocks collected.
