UCC Medfield Annual Events
Kick-Off Sunday: On September 10, 2017 we return to our schedule of two services - the traditional worship service at 9:30 am in the Sanctuary and the contemporary praise worship service at 11 am in the Great Room. Sunday School for preschool - fifth grade students begins on Kick-Off Sunday. Sunday School is currently offered at the 9:30 am service only. Follow this link for more details. Nursery care is available at both services for children under age 3.
Heifer Sunday: On October 22, 2017, our Fellowship Hall is transformed into a Living Gift Market in support of Heifer International. Throughout the month of October the children will be learning about Heifer International and how the organization transforms the lives of needy people around the world. Each class will study a specific animal and will make headdresses to wear at their tables that day. This is an important stewardship event for our children. UCC Medfield Service Day: Join us on Saturday, November 4, 2017 as members of the congregation come together to serve the community. Follow this link to view the Sing Up Genius with all the details.
Medfield Interfaith Thanksgiving Service: On Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at 7 pm, representatives from all the churches in Medfield, as well as Temple Beth David in Westwood, will take part in a Interfaith Thanksgiving Service at the First Parish UU of Medfield (26 North Street, Medfield.) We hope you'll take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to thank God in the context of the larger Medfield community.
Community Carol Sing: Our Sanctuary Choir leads the annual carol sing at our church on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 7:30 pm to complement the town tree lighting.
Christmas Pageant/Play: On December 10, 2017, our annual Sunday School Christmas play will be presented at both services.

Advent Supper and Cookie Wrap: Sponsored by the Women's Ministries, we will meet on December 12, 2017 at 6:00 pm to share a supper of soup and bread and then package homemade cookies for those who could use a little extra joy during the holiday season.
Christmas Eve: On Sunday, December 24, 2017, candlelight worship services will be held at 4 pm, 5:30 pm, and 7 pm.
Service of Lessons and Carols: We will hold this special service at 9:30 am on December 31, 2017. There is no Sunday School or 11 am service that day. Children are invited to remain in the sanctuary with their parents.
Pancakes with a Purpose: (a fundraiser for the youth mission trip) February 13, 2018 from 6 pm - 7:30 pm.
Ash Wednesday: On February 14, 2018, we will observe the beginning of Lent with a service at 7:30 pm.
Women's Retreat: March 2 - 4, 2018 - stay tuned for more information coming in the fall
Palm Sunday: On March 25, 2018, we will observe the beginning of Holy Week with our services at their regular times of 9:30 am and 11:00 am.
Maundy Thursday: On Thursday, March 29, 2018 at 7:30 pm, we will hold a Service of Tenebrae and will share Holy Communion in remembrance of the Last Supper. Our 5th graders partake of their first educated communion after studying the Sacraments of Baptism and Communion during the previous weeks.
Good Friday: On Friday, March 30, 2018, we will remember Jesus' crucifixion and death on the cross.
Easter: On the morning of Sunday, April 1, 2018, our family service will be held at 8:30 am, our festival service at 9:30 am and our praise service at 11 am. Special music and flowers mark this important celebration.
All Church Picnic: On June 10, 2018 from 11 am - 1 pm.
Confirmation Sunday: On April 8, 2018 we celebrate our ninth grade confirmands' decision to reaffirm their baptism and join the church.
Graduation Sunday: On June 3, 2018 we celebrate our high school graduates.
